Pakistani rape victim sets herself ablaze

Pakistanis are rallying online in anger following the death on Friday of Amina Bibi, a teenage gang rape victim who set herself on fire to protest the release of a main suspect.

Bibi was attacked and gang raped on her way back from college in January, in Punjab province’s Muzaffargarh. Her brother reportedly said the trauma of sexual assault and a police decision to release the main suspect in the attack pushed her to self-immolate.

Netizens are expressing their anger and support for Bibi using hashtag #Justice4Amina.
