‘No ho ho compromise’: Gun rights ad shows Santa with AR-15 rifle

Some critics question the holiday spirit of Santa giving a rifle to a child.

Why is Santa delivering an AR-15 rifle for Christmas? Many Canadians are questioning the National Firearms Association‘s new holiday ad. The campaign plays off the film “A Christmas Story,” in which a young boy is told he can’t have a toy BB gun because he will shoot his eye out.

In the NFA version, the BB gun became a Windham AR-15, according to their Facebook page. The ad is also branded with the group’s logo and “No ho ho compromise,” a seasonal adaptation of its “no compromise” slogan on gun laws.
