Kenyan blogger charged with undermining presidency on Twitter
Robert Alai is released on bail after arrest for insulting president and posting his contact information.
Prominent Kenyan blogger Robert Alai has been charged by the Kenyan government for undermining the presidency through his critical tweets. Alai is a government critic with a large following, and recently appeared as a guest on The Stream.
On Twitter, Alai called President Uhuru Kenyatta an “adolescent president” and tweeted phone numbers he said belonged to the president and other senior officials.
