Ending statelessness

What will it take to give legal status to the world’s 10 million stateless people?

Every 10 minutes a baby is born stateless, according to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR). At least 10 million people around the world are living with no legal status, no passport, no vote and, often, few employment and education opportunities. UNHCR, however, hopes to end statelessness by 2024. They recently launched a global campaign called “I Belong” and a 10-point action plan to achieve this goal. But will the international community accept the challenge? Join the conversation at 1930GMT.
