Simmering tensions in Jerusalem have come to a boil. Bloody clashes, Israeli forces storming Al-Aqsa compound and Palestinian hit-and-run attacks on Israeli pedestrians have consumed the city. Israel has tightened security in occupied East Jerusalem, stoking fears of a third Palestinian Intifada, or uprising. This comes amid right-wing Jewish demands to pray inside the city’s holiest compound and plans to increase illegal Israeli settlements.
