
A world without wildlife?
The Stream examines what’s being done to slow down wildlife declines.

More than half the world’s wildlife has been lost in the past 40 years, according to the World Wide Fund for Nature. Back in 2010 environment ministers from 200 countries agreed to a UN strategy to slow down the loss of wildlife and habitats by 2020. But the UN recently said governments are failing to meet the conservation targets they set out. So if international efforts are not working, what will slow down wildlife declines?
