Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) is on strike over claims that the government failed to deliver on a 1997 agreement to improve teachers’ living conditions. The government said the strike was “illegal”, claiming the union has no case, and called on teachers to come to the bargaining table instead.
Netizens used the hashtag #WhyTeachersShouldBeHeard to discuss their thoughts on the strike.
