‘Quran burning’ protests in Afghanistan spark Twitter debates

As protesters clash with police in the streets, online conversation also heats up.

Hundreds of Afghans across the country took to the streets to protest inappropriate treatment of religious materials, including reports that copies of the Quran were burnt at an airbase used by NATO and coalition troops.

In the hours following the on-set of protests, Afghans (and some non-Afghans) took to Twitter in response.
