
Moroccans protest ahead of #Feb20 anniversary
Thousands took to the streets in Rabat and Casablanca.
Thousands of anti-government protesters held rallies across Morocco on Sunday, a day before the one-year anniversary of the #Feb20 pro-democracy movement.
Despite constitutional reforms and elections held last November, there are still signs of dissatisfaction and unrest in the country.
This month, a 24-year-old man was fined and sentenced to three years in jail for criticising King Muhammad VI in a YouTube video. In January, five Moroccans set themselves on fire during an unemployment protest in the capital Rabat.
