Eradicating leprosy in Cambodia through a new zero transmission strategy.
Over the last 20 years, more than 14 million people have been cured of leprosy and the number of new cases has fallen dramatically. However, the battle against this chronic infectious disease is not over and the condition still affects thousands of people around the world.
In Cambodia, where hundreds of new cases of leprosy are detected each year, a new strategy called contract tracing has been introduced to halt transmission.

Contact tracing works by tracking down people who have been in touch with newly diagnosed leprosy patients and examining them for early signs of leprosy. Once diagnosed they are offered free treatment.
