Talk to Al Jazeera

Haris Silajdzic

Sami Zeidan talks to him about the future and the foundations of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

In this episode of Talk to Jazeera, Sami Zeidan speaks to Haris Silajdzic, a member of the Bosnian presidency.

With the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina due to end its oversight of the country next year, they discuss what this means for Bosnia-Herzegovina and whether the country is ready for the transition.

Silajdzic suggests that the country is not a full democracy but instead has a form of ethnic democracy and a system and constitution that is the direct result of genocide.

They discuss how the issue of independence for Kosovo is impacting upon Bosnia and whether he feels that the US has failed Bosnia-Herzegovina.
