In eight months time the elite of world sport will be gathered in Beijing at the start of the 2008 Olympics.
For smaller Olympic sports, it will be an opportunity to promote their cause in an attempt to gain more exposure, participants, and funding.
One of those sports is archery, which has recently been trying to revamp its image to attract more fans.
It began at the archery world cup, and Sportsworld’s Joanna Gasiorowska was there.

Motor racing’s A1 championship moves down under to New Zealand for the next round, where a local hero will be hoping to get back on top of the standings.
Team New Zealand’s Jonny Reid was the early pace setter in the championship, and is determined to go one better and win this years title.
To do that, he will need a strong performance at the New Zealand round.

Last weekend one of the most famous events in motorsport was due to begin in Lisbon, Portugal.
But for the first time in its 30-year history, the race was cancelled as a result of security threats.

The victory meant the 20-year-old broke into the world’s top ten.

In the last few years the popularity of Futsal has grown throughout the world, as players like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo have all preached the benefits of the smaller game.
Thailand is one of the nations finding Futsal success, and they have a couple of secret weapons of their own.
