Through secret detentions and killings, the fate of many who have simply “disappeared” may never be known, and those seeking justice face a difficult path.

International organisations estimate that the number of men, women and children being seized illegally is growing worldwide.

On Monday’s episode of Riz Khan, we mark the International Day of the Disappeared and ask: What is being done to end forced disappearances, and what will it take to get justice?

Joining the programme will be Pierre Krahenbuhl, the director of operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Eduardo Gonzalez, the director of the Truth-Seeking Programme at the International Centre for Transitional Justice.
