The UK’s Iraq war inquiry

Former diplomat turned whistleblower Carne Ross joins the show.

As the world tries to move on from the conflict in Iraq, various investigative bodies have looked into the intelligence and decisions that led to that war.

The UK’s Iraq war inquiry has gone farther than any other body, even calling upon Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, the UK’s former prime ministers, to testify.

The goal of the panel is to “identify the lessons learned” but critics say it is nothing more than a “whitewash” because panel members are not asking the right questions.

On Tuesday’s Riz Khan show we talk to former UK diplomat turned whistleblower Carne Ross.

He just completed his testimony before the inquiry and will tell us why he thinks its conclusions will not result in meaningful change and what can be done about it.

This episode of the Riz Khan show aired from Tuesday, July 13, 2010.
