Anand Naidoo fills in for Riz Khan.
Elites have existed in every society, every era and every area of human pursuit. And they are desirable.
In fact it is a position held today by only 1 in every 1 million of the world’s population. And while their power increases, the power of the nation state is diminishing.
In his newly published book Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They are Making David Rothkopf draws back the curtain on a privileged society that most of us know little about, even though it profoundly effects our everyday lives.
His book is an in-depth look at the connections between the global communities of leaders who are the helm of every major enterprise on the planet and control its greatest wealth.
He says they are linked by networks and meetings, across borders, mostly speaking English, reading the same media, mostly white and male; they are the superclass, and they are shaping the history of our time.
