Anand Naidoo sits in for Riz Khan this week.

On Wednesday we speak to Jamaican reggae star Shaggy, who became one of the biggest dancehall successes of the early ’90s with hits like Oh Carolina and Boombastic.

Shaggy moved to the United States in 1986, when he was 18, and soon began performing with local bands.

His career was interrupted briefly when he joined the Marines and was stationed in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. But upon his return to the States, he produced hit after hit, and has been touring ever since.

In his latest album, Intoxication, he tackles social issues and hypocrites with dancehall beats.
