Ultra-Orthodox Jews clash with Israeli police over military conscription

Israeli police have cracked down on thousands of ultra-Orthodox men protesting against compulsory military service which they say goes against Jewish law. Israel’s High Court ruled last week that they are not exempt from conscription.
