Doctor who warned about coronavirus dies
The 34-year-old doctor who warned about the coronavirus outbreak in December has died due to the infection.
Li Wenliang’s death sparked a level of collective anger and grief, previously unseen on Chinese social media.
Hailed as a national hero, Dr Li was apprehended by Wuhan police for “spreading rumours” about the coronavirus outbreak earlier last month.
The news of his death was posted by his colleague on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, saying Li had passed away after being sent to the intensive care unit.
