Jordanian mall removes French products from shelves

A shopping mall in Jordan removed French products from shelves in response to comments made by Emmanuel Macron.

A Jordanian supermarket was among many across the Middle East who said they were removing French products from shelves in protest against comments by French President Emmanuel Macron on “Islamist separatism”, which have caused widespread anger.

Shopkeepers at the supermarket covered up shelves containing French products, including makeup, dairy and kitchen utensil brands. On them, they taped up signs that read in Arabic: “In solidarity with Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, all French products are boycotted”.
