The acute or short-term symptoms of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, are a persistent cough, a fever or an acute or sudden loss in your sense of smell or taste.

But what we are learning as time goes on is that the coronavirus can affect some people in the long run.

These people are now being called the “COVID long-haulers”. And what is interesting is that some of them have only had mild COVID symptoms and were never admitted to hospital.

So, what are some of these long-term effects? Dr Amir Khan explains.
