Inside Kashmir’s media facility amid blackout
A look inside the only media centre in Indian-administered Kashmir offering internet facility to journalists.
“Everybody has been deprived of the internet,” says Hilal Mir, a journalist working in Indian-administered Kashmir.
This media facility is provided by government authorities and is the only place where journalists are able to push out news stories amid a communications blackout.
The internet blackout began when the government revoked the region’s autonomy and imposed a lockdown in August 2019.
