Will ICC probe into Palestinian territories achieve anything?
The International Criminal Court is opening an investigation into alleged war crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories.
It will look into accusations of violations by both the Israeli military and Palestinian armed groups. The 2014 Gaza war and illegal Israeli settlements will be examined.
Palestinian leaders say the probe is long overdue.
Israel and its close ally, the United States, criticised the decision although neither are part of The Hague-based tribunal.
So what can this investigation achieve?
