Can another Suez Canal blockage be avoided?

A major disruption to global trade is closer to being resolved.

Salvage crews set free the Ever Given, a container ship that has been wedged across Egypt’s Suez Canal for nearly a week.

It created a major traffic jam on the main shipping route between Asia and Europe, costing billions of dollars.

How long will it take to clear the backlog on the canal and can another mishap such as this be avoided?
