Inside Story

Could Catalonia try to break away from Spain again?

Separatist parties increased their majority in Sunday’s regional election.

It has been a turbulent three years since Catalonia tried to secede from Spain.

Spain’s government did not authorise the referendum organised by regional leaders in Barcelona and charged them with sedition later.
