How should healthcare workers be protected from COVID-19?

The WHO estimates up to 180,000 health workers have died from COVID since January 2020.

Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers around the world have been working tirelessly to save lives since the pandemic began.

But the World Health Organization says that since January last year, up to 180,000 of them have died from COVID-19.

Some believe the actual number may be much higher.

Healthcare workers say they are overworked and under-appreciated and some have opted to leave the profession.

So what should be done to ensure they receive the protection and support they need?
