Maduro is promising to prosecute those behind a dramatic attempt to remove him from office.

On Tuesday, opposition leader Juan Guaido called on the army to overthrow Maduro.

But by the end of the day, Guaido was in hiding and dozens of his supporters were injured in scuffles with security forces.

Both sides are urging Venezuelans to hold more protests.
