President Donald Trump announces the total withdrawal of US troops from Syria and a victory over ISIL in the country.
US President Donald Trump defended his decision to withdraw US troops from Syria, saying that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group has been defeated.
His tweets surprised just about everyone, both at home and abroad.
France has warned that ISIL has not been wiped off the map.
And rebel groups fighting ISIL said a United States pullout could destabilise the region.
So, has ISIL been defeated?
