Is ISIL embracing a new approach?

Suicide attack near tomb of Prophet Muhammad and two other blasts in Saudi Arabia raise new fears about ISIL.

Three seemingly coordinated suicide attacks in Saudi Arabia, at the heart of Islam, rounds off a deadly holy month of Ramadan.

ISIL has not taken responsibility for the attacks, but many observer say they bear the group’s hallmarks.

ISIL fighters have claimed other attacks in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Bangladesh and Iraq.

Muslims are particularly disturbed as they prepare to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The attacks appear to be a deliberate strategy by ISIL to project strength abroad after losing territory in Iraq and Syria.

So, what’s the message behind the latest strikes?
