Crisis in Yemen and the Horn of Africa
UN warns that trouble in Yemen could open a corridor for so-called jihadists through Somalia.
Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general, says he remains concerned about security in Somalia, increased al-Shabab activity in Puntland and the security implications of developments in Yemen.
As the crisis in Yemen worsens, some trends seem to have reversed. Weapons are now said to be shipped to Yemen from some countries in the Horn of Africa.
There are now serious fears that armed groups may coordinate efforts, further threatening an already volatile region.
So, what should be done to prevent the situation from spiralling out of control?
