What is legal basis for killing Palestinian attackers?

Multiple killings by Israel of Palestinians suspected of knife attacks have been described as extrajudicial executions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has admitted that there is no quick fix for the recent spate of Palestinian knife attacks against Israelis.

So far, all the Palestinians who carried out such attacks have been shot dead by Israeli security forces.

Some have called them extrajudicial executions.

Israel stands accused of breaching international law that governs territories and populations under occupation.
