Racism toward Arabs in Israel is on the rise, an Israeli leading human rights group claims.
Do Arab Israelis live in a democratic regime whose foundations are constantly weakening, or is democracy limited only to Jews?
On the international day for human rights, Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) also faulted the nation for increasing racism in its treatment of minorities, especially Arabs. The report quoted poll findings showing that only about half of Israelis believe in religious freedom and equal rights for Arab citizens, who make up about 20 percent of Israel’s population.
We ask whether racism is rising due to the fear factor or other reasons, and what are they. We also ask what the future of Arab Israelis is likely to be in view of these findings.
