Rice visits the Middle East

It is her seventh tour to the Middle East in a year [AFP]

Condoleezza Rice, the US secretary of state, makes yet another trip to the Middle East.

This time Rice is trying to bridge differences between Palestinians and Israelis over a joint document that would form the basis for an international conference expected to be held in the US next month.

So, how could Rice bring both sides to a common ground?

Will the US exert any real pressure on Israel? And can Abbas, Olmert and Bush make deals despite their weak positions?
