Inside Iraq

Authors’ views on the Iraq war

On the seventh anniversary, we examine the US-led campaign through the eyes of writers.

On the seventh anniversary of the 2003 war in Iraq, we re-examine the US-led campaign against Sadam Hussein’s rule – through the eyes of different authors.

Some writers have focused on the military campaign aspect, while others applied more emphasis to the human tragedy that resulted from it, but very few managed to grasp the entire picture.

Nowadays many stores and homes throughout the world are brimming with books on the Iraq war, but does that mean we know the whole story, or will history reveal some shocking secrets?

This week Inside Iraq interviews two prominent authors on the war: Juan Cole,  aprofessor of history at the University of Michigan, and Jürgen Todenhöfer, a former member of the German parliament and the author of the bestselling book Why do you kill, Zaid?.

This episode of Inside Iraq airs from Friday, March 19, 2010, at the following times GMT: Friday: 1730, 2230; Saturday: 0300, 0830; Sunday: 0600, 1230; Monday: 0130.
