The death of Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader, has dominated the news last week. As new details of the mission trickle out each day, what does the death of bin Laden mean to Barack Obama, the US president, the US and the world as a whole? How is his death affecting al-Qaeda and the global threat of terrorism? What does it mean for the next US presidential elections? How will it impact the US war in Afghanistan? And how will the killing affect US-Pakistan relations?

Representatives of Palestinian factions met in Cairo earlier this week to mark a landmark reconciliation agreement. Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, announced the deal between his party, Fatah, which governs the West Bank, and Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip. But Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, is calling it a hard blow to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The prime minister is urging international leaders to reject the deal.
Sir David is joined by Mark Regev, the Israeli spokesman, to discuss the impact of the Palestinian unity deal on Israel and on the Middle East peace process.
