Frost Over the World

Posturing in Palestine

Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, discusses the Palestine Papers.

Behind the scenes in Palestine

The story of the week has been the release, by Al Jazeera, of leaked documents showing the inside story of the Middle East negotiations. The Palestine Papers controversially revealed the Palestinian position in negotiations with Israel. Sir David is joined by Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator at the talks.

Plus, last week, Tendai Biti, Zimbabwe’s finance minister, warned that the country faced a “bloodbath” if Robert Mugabe, the president, presses ahead with elections this year, as he has threatened to do. So what does the new year have in store for Zimbabwe? Sir David is joined by Morgan Tsvangirai, the country’s prime minister.

More reactions to the Palestine Papers

John Gormley, the leader of Ireland’s Green Party, talks about the future of Irish politics.

Plus, more on the release of the Palestine Papers with Aaron Miller, a former US Middle East negotiator, and Hanan Ashrawi, a former Palestinian negotiator.

This episode of Frost Over the World aired from Friday, January 28, 2011.
