Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the Somalian president, is trying to get international support for his fragile transitional government. The president has now been in power for just over a year and arguably has one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs in the world.
He warned this week that “terrorism and piracy in Somalia threaten death and destruction far beyond its borders.”
We speak to Mark Sedwill, NATO’s new man in Afghanistan about what he thinks about the allegations that Hamid Karzai, the Afghani president is corrupt, Helen Clark, the former prime minister of New Zealand, will join us, plus one of the world’s best known scientists Robert Winston gives us his views on the dangers of inventions.
