Fault Lines

US midterms: a town hall debate

Avi Lewis dissects the election results with guest panelists from across the political spectrum.

Washington is waking up to a new political world: a Republican party that hit rock bottom is back. A president who promised transformation two years ago, is now having change forced on him.

Now that the 2010 US Midterm elections are over, it is time to talk about what the results mean – for the US and the world – over the next two years.

The day after the elections, Fault Lines hosts a town hall debate analysing the results.

Joining Avi Lewis are Andrew Langer, a Tea Party activist and the president of the Institute for Liberty, a libertarian think tank and advocacy group in DC; Brad Blakeman, a Republican strategist who was a deputy assistant to George W Bush; Neera Tanden, the chief operating officer at the Center for American Progress, who worked on policy for Hillary Clinton and then Barack Obama during the 2008 campaign; and Bill Fletcher, a senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studiesand on the board of BlackCommentator.com.
