Pat Buchanan

The columnist and political analyst has been a senior advisor to three presidents.

Born in Washington, DC and interested in journalism from a young age, Patrick Buchanan was raised in a large family with roots in the US Civil War. At 23, he became the youngest editorial writer on a major newspaper in the US and since then has written 10 books, including six New York Times bestsellers.

Over the course of his career in American politics, which spans more than four decades, Patrick Buchanan has been a senior advisor to three presidents, a two-time candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, and was the presidential nominee for the Reform Party in 2000.

Currently, he is a columnist and political analyst for the MSNBC television network and supports The American Conservative and The American Cause, which he founded to promote conservative political viewpoints.
