Egypt: The revolution continues …

Egyptians gather in The Cafe to discuss the challenge of fulfilling their revolutionary dreams after ousting Mubarak.

It all began at Tahrir Square. Hundreds of thousands of Egyptians took to the streets to push out the long-time ruler Hosni Mubarak. It was a historic moment that captivated the world and inspired them to believe that anything is possible. Many Egyptians believed their lives would be transformed.

But the initial optimism is fading away and reality is setting in. The military still controls the country and the transition to a democraticcally-elected government is still very uncertain. The old regime may be gone, but for millions of Egyptians their daily lives have not changed that much. The revolution is far from over.
