Arthur Mutambara will be deputy prime minister in the new government of Zimbabwe

It has been four weeks since Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai signed a power-sharing deal, but both sides have failed to agree on cabinet positions.

Last weekend, Mugabe allocated all the key posts to members of his Zanu-PF party, prompting Tsvangirai, the leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) to threaten to pull out of the agreement and Thabo Mbeki, the former South African president, to return to Harare on Monday.

On the fourth day of talks Sir David speaks to Arthur Mutambara, who will become the deputy prime minister of Zimbabwe in the new government. He is the leader of a breakaway MDC faction.

Mutambara tells Sir David why this is not the time for bi-partisan politics and that the future of Zimbabwe is at stake.

Actor Ron Silver discusses the US presidential election and art imitating life

Actor Ron Silver played no-nonsense pollster Bruno Gianelli in the long-running and hugely successful political show The West Wing.

In its final series, Bruno helped fight an election between a veteran Republican with a maverick streak and a young and charismatic senator who came from nowhere to clinch the Democratic nomination.

Does this all sound familiar?

Silver joins Sir David Frost to discuss how art mirrors life and to offer his predictions for the upcoming US election.

On Wednesday night, the US presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama faced each other in their final televised debate before the country votes on November 4.

A CNN poll of people watching the debate said that Obama won by 58 per cent to 31 per cent.

With McCain slipping further in the polls, can the Republican hopeful turn things around in the next two weeks?

Sir David is joined by one of the leading conservative thinkers in the US, R Emmett Tyrrell. He is the editor-in-chief of The American Spectator magazine.

A series of high-profile but confidential meetings have been taking place in Oxford.
