Arthur Mutambara will be deputy prime minister in the new government of Zimbabwe

It has been four weeks since Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai signed a power-sharing deal, but both sides have failed to agree on cabinet positions.

Last weekend, Mugabe allocated all the key posts to members of his Zanu-PF party, prompting Tsvangirai, the leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) to threaten to pull out of the agreement and Thabo Mbeki, the former South African president, to return to Harare on Monday.

On the fourth day of talks Sir David speaks to Arthur Mutambara, who will become the deputy prime minister of Zimbabwe in the new government. He is the leader of a breakaway MDC faction.

Mutambara tells Sir David why this is not the time for bi-partisan politics and that the future of Zimbabwe is at stake.

In the 1980s, Ron Howard had one of the most recognisable faces in the US, after his role as Richie in Happy Days.

Now, he is one of the most respected and prolific film directors in Hollywood.

His films have been nominated for 34 Academy Awards and include A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13 and Cocoon.

His latest film Frost/Nixon will be released later this year and is based on David Frost’s landmark interviews with the then US president in 1977.

Howard discusses his latest project with Sir David.

Elie Podeh

Elie Podeh has been attending talks designed to kick-start the Middle East peace process

A series of high-profile but confidential meetings have been taking place in Oxford.

The talks have been arranged by the Oxford Research Group and are part of an Arab initiative to kick-start the Middle East peace process.

The Oxford conference is based on the exploratory talks that took place before the failed 1993 Oslo Accords.

Joining Sir David straight from the talks is Professor Elie Podeh of Jerusalem University.
