On Wednesday Riz speaks with Canadian journalist and activist Naomi Klein.

After the worldwide success in 2000 of No Logo, which criticized the poor labour conditions maintained by multinational corporations, she has just published her second work, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism.

In Shock Doctrine, Klein attacks corporate globalisation, accusing the world’s major corporations of seeking out disasters – natural or man-made – for profit. Whether it’s Katrina, the Asian tsunami, the fall of the Soviet Union, or the Iraq war, she argues, neo-liberal capitalism will find a way to take advantage of the situation – and make billions.

You can watch Riz at 1900gmt, with repeats at 0000GMT, 0500GMT, and 0930GMT.

This episode aires on Wednesday 19th September 2007.
