Twelve years ago South Africa won the rugby world cup – it was an historic victory in their home and united a nation still coming to terms with the end of apartheid.
But now a new race storm threatens.
As Carrie Brown reports from Paris, the politics behind the game are threatening to lessen the impact of this famed rugby side.

With their exit from the rugby world cup, Australia’s sports fans will now be looking ahead to next years Olympics.
The nation is renowned for their success in the swimming pool, but recently things have not been going Australia’s way, so as Sportsworld’s Wayne Hay found out, their swim team, including Grant Hackett, have been going back to basics in preparation for Beijing.

The American writer Mark Twain once suggested that Golf was “a good walk spoiled”.
Nowadays the sport requires a lot more physical exertion, especially at the professional level where millions of dollars are at stake.
But with such a packed schedule of events on the worlds golfing tours, how do the professional players ensure they keep fit and healthy on a day-to-day basis?

When you think of famous football teams around the world, there are several leading contenders that come to mind: Manchester United, Barcelona, AC Milan, or El Ahly in Egypt.
But in South America, few clubs enjoy a higher profile, than Argentina’s Boca Juniors.
Al Jazeera’s Brendan Connor went to Buenos Aires to see how some Boca supporters have taken their fanaticism to new heights.
