Interview: Ray McGovern, Amy Knight

A former CIA analyst and a Soviet Union historian discuss who really benefits from Ukraine’s political fallout.

Ray McGovern is a former CIA officer responsible for the analysis of Soviet policy in Vietnam and China. Amy Knight is a historian of the Soviet Union and Russia and an expert on the KGB.

As part of Empire’s episode, Towards a post post-Cold War era, McGovern and Knight join host Marwan Bishara to discuss the Russian and Ukrainian endgames, the reason why tensions rose so fast in Kiev, American interests, and who really benefits from the political crises.
