Extended Interview: Konstantinos Georgousis
Empire’s Marwan Bishara talks to a Greek filmmaker about the far-right Golden Dawn party.
Konstantinos Georgousis is a Greek filmmaker who directed The Cleaners.
He followed members of the Golden Dawn, an far-right Greek party known for its anti-immigrant stand.
Georgousis was a student of the National Film and Television School in the UK at the time he filmed the Golden Dawn members.
The Cleaners led to an investigation into the party by the Greece’s criminal prosecutor.
The film recently won a Special Jury Prize at the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival Awards.
