Western Europe’s biggest oil exporter targets deep-sea mining

Norway could license companies for seabed mining by 2023 to meet demand for batteries, wind turbines and solar energy.

Norway has saved $1.35 trillion from the export of oil and gas.

While advocating green credentials at home, it is the world’s seventh-biggest exporter of emissions, and as oil and gas revenues dry up, it is preparing to mine the seabed for metals.
