Disenfranchised Ugandans speak about how they have been intimidated and bullied off their lands as palm oil farmers take over their acreage.
Crops that once meant an income to pay for their children’s education and a means to put food on their families’ dinner tables have come under threat as the palm oil industry.
One mother trying to survive says: “We used to be able to walk without fear. But now we are scared … We are feeling very sad because our environment is being destroyed. They have taken all our forests and cut them down.”
