Al Jazeera Correspondent - Mustang: Kingdom on the edge
From: Al Jazeera Correspondent

The monks of Mustang

With China’s influence growing steadily in the Himalayas, life has changed for many of Mustang’s monks.

One of the most remote places on earth, Mustang in Nepal’s Himalayas, is also one of the last places with a pure Tibetan Buddhist culture, which has hardly changed since the 14th century. The people and especially the monks of Mustang are struggling to preserve their cultural and spiritual identity.

Mustang: A Kingdom on the Edge airs from Thursday, October 13, at the following times GMT: Thursday: 2000; Friday: 1200; Saturday: 0100; Sunday: 0600; Monday: 2000; Tuesday: 1200; Wednesday: 0100; Thursday: 0600.
