There is little sign of stability nine months after the military seized power.

Recent weeks have seen street demonstrations and accusations of corruption and incompetence swirl around Thailand’s chaotic political scene.
Nine months after the country’s military seized power in a bid to bring stability to the country, there is little sign of calm.
Elections are promised by the end of the year but with the country’s biggest political party, That Rat Thai, banned and the overthrown prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, in exile, 101 East looks at the chances for a restoration of civilian rule in what used to be a role model for South East Asian democracy.
101 East’s guests this week are Jakrapob Penkair, an anti-government activist, Kasit Piromya, an adviser to the leader of the Democrat party and a former spokesman for the Thaksin government, and Giles Ungphakorn, a social activist and political scientist.
