Syrian forces aim to cut off Aleppo rebels

Government forces attack Handarat just outside Aleppo in bid to disrupt rebel supply lines.

Syrian government forces have attacked rebel positions in Handarat, a town just 2.5km from Aleppo and overlooking the only road connecting the city to rebel supply lines.

The attack on Friday was part of the government’s concerted effort to take on opposition fighters in Aleppo

Several opposition fighters were reported to have been killed. Whoever controls this area, controls the delivery of supplies to the rebels.
