Palestinians push for ICC membership

Armed factions in Gaza persuaded to back efforts to join the ICC to facilitate investigating Israel's war crimes.

    As Israeli jets continue to bomb central Gaza causing deaths and destruction, Palestinian officials are pushing to apply for a membership to the ICC. Such a membership would facilitate investigating Israel's war crimes.

    President Mahmoud Abbas announced on Saturday that he had persuaded Gaza's armed factions to support this move.
